Consulting and Instrumentation

IES can bring its unrivalled portfolio of skills and experience to the complex needs of established companies in sectors such as

  • Oil and Gas
  • Life Sciences
  • Environmental Science
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Chemicals
  • Marine and Rail
  • Metals
  • Food and Beverages
  • Waste and Water
  • Minerals
  • Cement

In these and other sectors, we have consultants who are certified in design, manufacture, installation, commissioning, calibration and support of electronic instrumentation, programmable controllers and microprocessor-based control systems and development of associated software.

Quality Management

Our Quality Management System has been approved by Lloyds Register Quality Assurance to the Quality Management System Standards ISO 9001:2008, and The TickIt Guide Issue 5.5, the up-to-date version of the BSI guidance on applying the requirements of ISO 9001 to software development and IT-related activities.

Advantages of ‘Turnkey’ Solutions

In today’s lean business climate, few companies can retain permanent staff with the skills, qualifications and experience to see through upgrade and refurbishment projects from start to finish. The IES special skill is our ability to discuss needs – engineers talking to engineers – and to come up with solutions which we carry through and complete on time and within budget. But IES Lean Systems provide services far beyond the point of delivery. We see the job through to installation and commissioning, and then beyond into maintenance and servicing. The great

advantage of a turnkey project is peace of mind; IES assumes full responsibility of the project, and the service user needs to communicate with only one provider – so less scope for setbacks.

Instrumentation

IES Lean Systems Ltd. has been a supplier of instrumentation and a provider of automation solutions for over 20 years.

Instrumentation can be a bewildering field for the uninitiated, with a variety of techniques, and a multiplicity of materials, styles, packaging and communications.

Partnering with “Blue Chip” Instrument manufacturers such as Siemens and Fireye, we provide a comprehensive full lifecycle service covering supply, installation, commissioning, calibration and maintenance. Our engineering staff can provide an economic, full specification, loop and hook up design facility if required. From a single transmitter to a full ‘turnkey’ system, IES Lean Systems Ltd. can meet your instrumentation needs.

MCERT (The Environment Agency Monitoring Certification Scheme)

IES Lean Systems Ltd. implement instrumented solutions under the MCERT scheme, the Environment Agency’s Monitoring Certification Scheme which provides standards for the safe monitoring of liquid flows such as trade or sewage effluent, to protect the environment and human health.

IES engineers have experience in CEMS (Continuous Emissions Monitoring) and CWMS (Continuous Water Monitoring).

Projects and Services

There is a symbiotic relationship between projects and services; understanding how service needs affect the lifetime of an installation helps IES engineers to build in the resilience which complex systems require. Our in-depth support provides compliance with appropriate standards and legislation, and reduces costly downtime.

Services and Maintenance

Service represents more than a quarter of IES business. After installation and commissioning, the users of our upgraded systems can be reassured that everything will be done to keep services running smoothly. Full lifecycle support can be provided with extended warranties, and we can supply guaranteed response contracts. Trained engineers and technicians provide support on a wide variety of instruments and systems, and we can supply breakdown, preventative and predictive maintenance services and software back up services. Flexible contracts, including telephone support, can be tailored to meet the specific needs of the plant.

Remote Servicing

IES can provide the latest in remote servicing; with most manufacturers’ instrument ranges, modem links to systems can provide economic and effective remote diagnostics. This is especially valuable in mission-critical environments such as data centres or hospitals which cannot permit equipment failure.
